Thermaltake Toughpower GF3, 1000W Of Modern ATX Power

For All Your ATX v3.0 And PCIe 5.0 Needs

There was a brief period when kilowatt class PSUs existed, but were not needed.  For a time the focus of CPUs and GPUs was on power efficiency but the last generation of chips have brought high power requirements back to the PC.  Along with the increase in power draw has come a new generation of specifications, which the Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 series fully supports.

This 1000W PSU can provide up to 999.6W at 83.5A to it’s single 12V rail, but yet is a mere 160 mm in depth.  The PSU ships with a 600mm long 12+4 pin PCIe cable capable of handling up to 450W of power.  The efficiency isn’t amazing as loads increase compared to 80PLUS rated PSUs but still remains above 80% for the most part and the power draw when powered off is impressively low.  Ripple and load regulation was top notch when TechPowerUp tested them, which is far more important for your system than efficiency.

It will run you around $200, but for a kilowatt class PSU with all the newest features you have to expect a fairly large price tag.
